Art Detour Informational Open House: Sunday, Jan. 29 @ 1:00pm
Anyone Interested in Volunteering or coming to the open house is welcome to attend.  It will be held at the

 This Sunday the Art Detour committee will be holding an open house to share more information about this year’s upcoming event. There will be refreshments and information about opportunities for everyone who may want to be involved. Attached, are more details. We hope to see you there!

About Art Detour 24 Details:
Art Detour 24 will be taking place this year on Saturday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, March 18 from Noon to 6 p.m. It will feature a FREE two-day art event featuring self-guided tours of art galleries, studios and other venues, as well as performances and activities. Highlights include a Kids’ Detour comprised of family-friendly activities, and a “Public Hanging” that allows people from the community to submit artwork that will be displayed at the A.E. England Gallery. The Arizona Center will serve as the “first stop” for Art Detour 24, with free parking, gallery maps and a variety of on-site festival activities, including music, performances, restaurant discounts and more. Artlink’s 14th Annual Juried Exhibition

Exhibition Dates: February 3rd – February 17th, 2012

Artlink Phoenix is excited to present the 14th Annual Juried Exhibition. We are fortunate to have prominent members of the Arizona arts community who served as our jurors this year: SMoCA Director Tim Rodgers; Artist, as well as, Professor and Faculty Director Adriene Jenik from ASU Herberger Institute; and local Phoenix artist Cory Weeks.

We invite you to join us for the opening reception on the night of February 3rd at A. E. England Gallery between the hours of 6-10pm. At the reception you will have a chance to meet this year’s selected artists, our jurors, Artlink Board Members and Volunteers. The jurors have chosen 10 accomplished artists working in mediums that include sculpture, painting, photography and drawing. We will also be awarding monetary prizes for the jurors’ top selections.

Apply to participate in Art Detour 24, March 17-18

Art Detour 24 is a free, two-day, self-guided tour of artist studios, art spaces, and other art venues in downtown Phoenix organized by Artlink, Inc. in cooperation with participating venues. Art Detour draws thousands of enthusiastic arts supporters each year. Each participating venue will be included in the Art Detour 24 brochure and map which will be will be similar in format to the First Friday map. This publication will be distributed free of charge to promote artists, art venues, and art friendly businesses in downtown Phoenix. Click here to download the application for Art Detour 24.

January 2012 First Friday is here!

Happy New Year everyone! The First Friday of 2012 is here! There is much happening throughout the art venues in downtown Phoenix. Visit our various arts districts with great spaces and amazing art. Park at the Phoenix Art Museum and ride the free shuttles (or ride light rail, take your bike, pedicab, taxi, or walk). Download Artlink’s map here, courtesy of Downtown Phoenix Journal.

We are working hard in getting sponsors to keep the trolleys running through 2012 and we could really use your help. Phoenix Community Alliance (PCA) has offered to match up to $500 in donations for this continued service.

Artlink Gallery at Heritage Square hosts workshops, Jan. 14 – March 11

The Artlink Gallery at Heritage Square is excited to host adult workshops in numerous mediums! With quality teachings at affordable prices you can further your artistic skills and techniques; or  for beginners who would like to explore their artistic side to start developing them. The gallery, which functions as an exhibition space for artists on First and Third Fridays, is part of the non-profit organization Artlink Phoenix, one of the oldest, volunteer-run, non-profit 501C3 arts organizations in downtown Phoenix.

Workshops and  8 week classes will run from January 14 -March 11, 2012. This extensive visual arts program will include mixed media, painting, drawing, fiber, photography, ceramics, air brush, water-color, video, writing, book and paper art, performance, bead work, fibers, and sculpture.

Our art instructors are professionals in their fields with tremendous talent, skills and abilities excited to pass on to their students.

The classes will be held at the Artlink Gallery, housed in the Carriage House at Historic Heritage Square. The 1899 structure is located at 115 N. 6th St, Phoenix AZ 85004. The Artlink Gallery is 300 sq ft and has lots of natural light flooding in from two large glass doors. Classes will take place indoors, as well as, outdoor in the beautiful view of the park and its historical structures. Also, there are opportunities to walk downtown for more inspiration. Restaurants, such as Rose & Crown, Nobuo, and Pizzeria Bianco are next door.
